Youth Cricket:

In 2016 Geneva Sri Lanka Cricket Club made a conscious decision to actively promote a policy in youth development.   Our 7-year old programme now have over 5 registered young members of 12 years of age and younger.  The club strongly believes that all youngsters should be given a chance to play cricket in a supportive and friendly environment.  This will ensure the continuity of the game and of course the club.  As such the Club groups the youth as “Under 9”, “Under 11”, “Under 13” and “Under 15”.  Starting from 2016, the Club is planning to develop Women Cricket covering a mixed age group from 9 to 14 years of age. In general, we encourage children of all ages, however, those that are under 7 may find it a bit challenging.

This project is appreciated by the Cricket Switzerland Association and is encouraged to be part of all cricket clubs in Switzerland (http://www.cricketswitzerland.ch/juniors/).

There will be no membership fees for youth members for the first Year  and this facilitates the youth to attend any or all of the weekend coaching sessions provided by our qualified coaching team including the possibility of being selected for one of the youth teams.  The free membership fee is to encourage younger members to attend cricket matches/sessions and to promote cricket in the local community.

The parent/care taker of each youth member is kindly required to complete the Membership Form at the first coaching session that they attend.  In this regard, the reduced Annual Subscription may also be paid at this time.

GESLCC coaching seasons are only available on days the grounds of Bout du Monde are available for the cricket season of 2016.
