Jehan Mubarak, a first class international cricketer from Sri Lanka was invited to Geneva by the   Geneva Sri Lanka Cricket club (CESLCC). This friendly meeting on Sunday 8 May, a rare opportunity, was embraced by the team members to get advice on Cricket technics, management information related to Captains & players for organizing and conducting cricket during the season.

Jehan reiterated that all team members must respect the decisions of the Captain of the team while there has to be sufficient communication between the players and the Captain and vise versa.  They may include skills, techniques, and positions of the players. Also he insisted that it is important to build a good network to report ideas to the management to improve the game. Furthermore, Jehan alluded to the fact that two day-practice is insufficient for any individual player to perform well.  Despite having problems accessing grounds, the players could practice individually from home location standing front of the mirror with respect to batting drills.

Jehan was kind enough to spend the entire day with the team, enjoyed a good “kottu roti” lunch in addition to coaching the Geneva Juniors and Seniors. In the afternoon, Jehan was accompanied by a small group of people including the Team Manager (Sunil Perera) to visit the old town and the cathedral tower in Geneva.  As a token of gesture, the club Management invited Jehan for a memorable dinner in France.

The Geneva Sri Lanka Cricket Club would like to take this opportunity to thank  Manjula Jayakodi and   Jacqueline Devi, who were kind enough to introduce Jehan Mubarak to our team, travel with him and joined us the entire day.

We thank Jehan and wish him every success in his future career!
