GESLCC played the final game of the CSPL at Lyon Parilly ground against Rhone Cricket Club, last Sunday.
GESLCC won the game with 4 wickets to spare. This result is important for GESLCC moral and stood second place of the pool-1 and got the advantage of the home rights to play the quarter final .
After a heavy defeat from the previous match against GCC, the captain Mounir won the toss and decided to field first as a strategic move.
Rhone CC scored 140 runs all out within 25 overs. GESLCC chased the target within 20 overs with a lost of 6 wickets. The new young player, Hans Koch took 3 wickets in his four overs with only 20 runs. The highest scores in the innings were Zarook 36, Uddika 29, and Arun 21. The match ended early in a friendly atmosphere. There were few family members travel to Lyon with the team to cheer the team and they gave immense amount of moral support. The club management would like to thank the team and the participants.
The club manager advised the team highlighting the need for some drastic improvements before the quarter final knockout stage. Therefore club urged all players to do more physical exercises prior to the next match.
