The top order batting collapsed

The top order batting collapsed and GESLCC lost the fourth Swiss League competition played against GEXI STARS by 72 runs, on Sunday 3rd  at Les Evaux, Onex.

The GEXI Stars elected to bat after winning the toss and scored 294 runs all out within 39.5 overs. There Openers Arjun and Waleed generated a partnership of 116 runs in 19 overs. Arjun batted steadily to score 70 runs (1×30, 2×5, 3×4,2×6,), and Waleed 34 , Kuldeep 45, Lalit 42, Arujun Vinod 25, and Aman 24.

During the GESLCC innings, Dugel’s tremendous effort and steady batting kept the XI Stars afloat with a score of 63 while Selvan brought 32 runs, totalling the 96 runs in 16 overs.  Dugel was caught in the last ball of the 20th over, totalling a score of 132 runs.  The captain Zarook took control of the game and scored 44 runs.  Along with Tharma’s 14, and krishanta’s 39 (not out) the total score was brought to 222 all out in 34 overs. Our last batsmen, Zaahid (under 12 player) who played in his inaugural match in his senior league was out caught. However, Zaahid’s full time contribution to the match was very much appreciated by the both clubs.

While GESLCC fielding was excellent in all areas during the match, the bowling was not up to expectation by those who are considered experienced.
